This 1-hour Continuing Education Credit session will include a concise overview of each of the following workers’ compensation insurance topics:

·        Classification – How are businesses classified for workers’ compensation insurance?

·        Experience Rating – How are experience modifications calculated in 2017?

·        Final Audit – What should a policyholder expect at the time of their premium audit?

·        Resources – What online tools are available to help you do your job?

The Instructors

Tim Beery is the WCIRB's Outreach and Education Specialist, and regularly provides presentations to groups of insurers, agents/brokers, and employers. Tim has been with the WCIRB for 15 years and enjoys helping others understand the California workers' compensation insurance system.

Lynn Yelverton is a Quality Assurance Director with more than 30 years of experience at the WCIRB, and vast expertise in classification and test audit procedures. Lynn was a key contributor in the development of CompEssentials: Classification Basics.

Outgoing President Craig Williams of JSW Insurance Associates, Pleasanton, will present the Annual Report to the membership and make final remarks as president of the association.


Resolution Committee Report
IIABCal Secretary-Treasurer Todd Williams of Buckman-Mitchell, Visalia, will present the 2017 resolutions to the general membership for approval.


Ramsden-Sullivan Memorial Award Presentation
IIABCal will present the Ramsden-Sullivan Memorial Award to an individual who truly exemplifies service to the American agency system and the insurance industry, has an outstanding record of service to IIABCal and to his/her community, and has worked to improve the images of insurance brokers and independent agents.

Incoming President Dave Nelson of Tegner-Miller, Santa Monica, will outline key strategic goals of the association during his installation remarks.


2017 Installation Keynote Address
Big "I" Chairman-Elect Spencer Houldin of Ericson Insurance Advisors, Roxbury,CT, will provide his insight to agent issues on the national level as he keynotes the Installation Luncheon.
